Eden Ministries Uganda Statement of Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God without error in the original writings (2 Timothy 3:16).

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Isaiah 45:22, Romans 11:36).

We believe that all people have sinned and come short of the glory of God; and that for the salvation of lost and sinful human beings, regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely essential (Romans 3:23, John 1:12, Titus 3:5).

We believe in the deity and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ; that he died upon the cross as a substitution sacrifice for the sin of the world that he arose from the dead and ascended into heaven from whence he will return with power and glory (John 10:3, I Timothy 2:5-6, II Corinthians 15:3-4, Titus 2:13).

We believe in the doctrine of justification by faith, realizing that it is impossible for anyone through works to save themselves (Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9).

We believe in life after death; that “There shall be resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust” (Acts 24:15).

We believe in the resurrection of the saved unto everlasting life in heaven and the resurrection of the unsaved unto eternal punishment in hell (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, II Thessalonians 1:7-9).

We believe that it is the responsibility of all believers in Christ to share the good news of Jesus as Savior and Lord to all people of the world. We believe we should do this in deeds of love and proclamation. We are therefore concerned about the physical, social, and spiritual needs of all people (Acts 1:8, Matthew 25:35-40).

“For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” Romans 12:4-5 so we welcome mission team to join us at our community rural church to teach and spread the gospel to the children and their caretakers through the many talents, gifts and abilities of those who are willing to join us. Our mission trips are open throughout the year but the trip should be communicated two months prior to the start of the journey for better arrangement and preparations.

God is the One who will put you and your team together to accomplish the work needed wherever He sends you. Please do not stress over who will be going and what it will cost God will provide? Again, God is putting you and your team together for a purpose so Prayer is going to be your most important job or assignment to achieve all what our community may need.

We acknowledge one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Jesus Christ the love, mercy and grace of God are made known to us and all people. From this overflowing abundance of God's love we find our call to ministry.

We proclaim together, "Jesus lived, died, and rose again. Jesus is Lord." We desire him to be central in our individual and corporate life.

We seek to follow him -- in his identification with the poor, the powerless, the afflicted, the oppressed, the marginalized; in his special concern for children; in his respect for the dignity bestowed by God on women equally with men; in his challenge to unjust attitudes and systems; in his call to share resources with each other; in his love for all people without discrimination or conditions; in his offer of new life through faith in him. From him we derive our holistic understanding of the gospel of the Kingdom of God, which forms the basis of our response to human need.
